Optical Physics Company (OPC) was founded in 1997. OPC designs and manufactures advanced optical subsystems for imaging, beam control and filtering, with specializations in the development of electro-optical sensor systems covering visible to MWIR bands that combine imaging and spectroscopy, including the mechanical assembly, electronics, optics, computer interface, signal acquisition and algorithms for signal processing. OPC excels in developing sensors where off-the-shelf solutions do not exist, with complete end to end solutions that supplement hardware with innovative analysis and computer simulations. Capabilities include design, trade studies, demos, and flight fabrication.
OPC is an active participant in several military and space research and development programs, such as TSAT (Transformation Communications Satellite), MAWFEA (Multi-Access Wide Field of View Enhancement Activity), MALST (Multi-Access Laser Space Terminal), ALT (Airborne Lasercom Terminal), and GOES-R (Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite). OPC customers include the Air Force, The Office of Naval Reseasrch, Missile Defense Agency, Boeing, Raytheon, ITT, Ball Aerospace and Northrop-Grumman.
OPC has Top Secret facilities occupying 12,000 sq ft. in Calabasas, California (30 miles west of Los Angeles).
