HEL Beam Control
OPC has developed a beam control technique for High Energy Laser (HEL) Phased Array Systems called Holographic Beam Control (HBC). HBC is an innovative and advanced concept for end-to-end HEL beam phase-control using only the HEL source. It requires no beacon and no illuminating laser, i.e., no BILL and no TILL. Furthermore, HBC performs target acquisition, aimpoint selection/maintenance and hit spot formation functions. Technology maturity had reached TRL 4 through simulation, analysis and laboratory testing.
